Personal Interests

When not working, Dr. Sheikh lives in the Rockville area and enjoys playing tennis, photography, traveling and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Sheikh returned to his home state at the completion of his training in 2008. There he was quickly able to establish an excellent reputation for himself as a sought-after pain management physician by specializing mainly in interventional treatments for acute and chronic pain. Over the five years he practiced in New Jersey, he became well known as one of the area’s best pain doctors and many of his loyal patients remain under his care at Pain, Spine & Rehab Associates in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Utilizing his unique dual training, Dr. Sheikh accurately diagnoses your painful conditions and then comprehensively treats them with non-surgical techniques. He will incorporate and meticulously review all pertinent imaging studies, and your previous surgeries and treatments. This ensures that only safe, appropriate and truly individualized treatment plans are prescribed. Dr. Sheikh has found that his treatments are most effective in the context of a multi-disciplinary approach. Therefore, he always strives to coordinate your care with your primary care physician as well as other specialists and therapists, and keeps all providers updated on your progress. Above all, his personal and professional approach, combined with a compassionate and humanistic nature, have been extremely well regarded by his peers and very well received by his patients.

Dr. Sheikh is the founder and medical director of Pain, Spine & Rehab Associates. This practice represents the culmination of Dr. Sheikh’s more than 10 years of patient care and embodies his dream of creating a truly patient-centered medical home. He is grateful to have this opportunity to treat patients the way he believes all people should be treated—with compassion and respect.
